Hi, David Tracy here. I’m in LA with Jason Torchinsky, working on building up The Autopian. We’re interviewing writers, coming up with content ideas, working on ways to improve the site, getting the word out as best we can, etc. But that’s all boring; you care more about car stuff.
First, my friend Cory at Munro just texted me what his team just found when tearing apart a Model S Plaid. It’s a complex screen articulation system. I figured I’d share that with you. I need to do a more thorough write-up later:
Also, I unfortunately just received a text from my landlord stating that the city of Troy isn’t exactly thrilled with the parts Jeep in front of my house. The good news? The letter of ordinance violation has given me an idea for the name of my next Moab project: Greep Jeep.
Completely unrelated: Should I buy this manual Jeep Grand Cherokee “Holy Grail”?

Jason is about to do a review of the Mobility Ventures MV-1. That’s going to be nuts.
I’m writing up a little intro for the incredible X-Sonic — the first hydraulic low-rider in the world, and a vehicle that our business partner Beau and his team (led by the legendary Dave Shuten) are restoring:
Mad Mike from Pimp My Ride is getting weird ideas about Jason’s Changli:
I’m interviewing engineers to bring on as freelancers/maybe staff writers, building a style guide to create the standard for our site’s content, meeting with our web-dev team, and getting ready to eventually write some nerdy/wrenchy things for you to read. There’s a lot to do. It’s exciting, a bit overwhelming, and Jason won’t stop making me laugh. It’s distracting.
